Ray Sportz Web Desk: Mohammedan Sporting Club earned their first point of the Indian Super League season after holding Odisha FC to a 1–1 draw at the Kalinga Stadium on Friday.
The home side took the lead just before halftime when Suhair VP capitalised on a swift counter-attack in the 40th minute, calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. Odisha FC looked the more dominant side in the opening half, controlling possession and creating multiple chances.
However, Mohammedan Sporting showed renewed determination after the break. Their persistence paid off in the 56th minute when Adison Singh found the equaliser with a sharp finish from close range, silencing the home crowd and shifting the momentum of the match.
The remainder of the game saw both teams pushing for a winner, but disciplined defending and missed opportunities ensured the points were shared.
The result marks a significant moment for Mohammedan Sporting, who had endured a difficult start to their campaign. While they remain near the bottom of the table, the draw could provide a much-needed confidence boost moving forward.

The decisive moment came as early as the 5th minute, when Robson capitalised on a swift attacking move to slot the ball past the goalkeeper. The early breakthrough put Mohun Bagan on the front foot and ultimately proved to be the difference between the two sides.
The match at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium was significantly disrupted by persistent rainfall, which led to a temporary suspension of play. The waterlogged pitch made it challenging for both teams to maintain rhythm, forcing a more physical and cautious approach after the restart.
