ISL 2025/26: Adison’s Equaliser Secures First Point for Mohammedan Sporting Against Odisha FC
Ray Sportz Web Desk: Mohammedan Sporting Club earned their first point of the Indian Super League season after holding Odisha FC to a 1–1 draw at the Kalinga Stadium on Friday.
The home side took the lead just before halftime when Suhair VP capitalised on a swift counter-attack in the 40th minute, calmly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper. Odisha FC looked the more dominant side in the opening half, controlling possession and creating multiple chances.
However, Mohammedan Sporting showed renewed determination after the break. Their persistence paid off in the 56th minute when Adison Singh found the equaliser with a sharp finish from close range, silencing the home crowd and shifting the momentum of the match.
The remainder of the game saw both teams pushing for a winner, but disciplined defending and missed opportunities ensured the points were shared.
The result marks a significant moment for Mohammedan Sporting, who had endured a difficult start to their campaign. While they remain near the bottom of the table, the draw could provide a much-needed confidence boost moving forward.
For Odisha FC, the outcome will be seen as a missed opportunity, especially after taking the lead and enjoying home advantage. Their inability to convert chances proved costly in the end.
Both teams will now look to build on this result as the league progresses.
