Ray Sports Web Desk: With preparations for the upcoming IPL already underway, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have also begun their training sessions. However, last season’s champion squad is missing a key member—fast bowler Yash Dayal. One of the heroes behind RCB’s first IPL title win, Yash’s absence has raised several questions. Is the sexual harassment controversy surrounding him the real reason he is missing from the camp? Speculations are high on the matter.

According to sources, multiple sexual harassment complaints have been filed against Yash Dayal, including one from a minor. Police from two different states are currently investigating the cases. Yash, who picked up 13 wickets last season and impressed many, has not joined the camp this year. Adding to the mystery, the team bus features photos of every RCB player except Yash. This has intensified curiosity about whether the franchise has distanced itself from him to protect their image. Notably, RCB had retained Yash before the auction. Despite that, the franchise has not issued any official statement regarding his absence. In January, the Rajasthan High Court granted him anticipatory bail in one of the sexual harassment cases. The lower court had previously rejected his plea in a case involving allegations of rape, mental abuse, and physical assault over a period of five years under the pretext of marriage. He also faces other accusation of raping a minor.

Amid this controversy, Yash married social media influencer Shweta Pundir on 4th of February. The wedding was attended only by close family members. Although the couple did not formally announce the marriage online, Shweta later posted a picture of them together along with a training video of Yash. A Delhi resident, Shweta has nearly six lakh followers on social media and also appears as a presenter in former cricketers’ leagues.
Meanwhile, confusion persists regarding Yash’s current situation. An official from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association said, “The allegations against Yash are very serious. So we cannot consider him for the team right now. Last we tried contacting him in September, we couldn’t reach him. He has even changed his phone number. His childhood coach also has no information regarding his whereabouts. We have no clue on him.”
RCB, however, has remained silent about his absence. Many believe the franchise may have quietly decided to distance itself from Yash to avoid future controversy arising from the serious allegations against him.
