Ray Sportz Web Desk: Mohun Bagan Super Giant were held to a hard-fought 0–0 draw by Bengaluru FC in an intense clash of the Indian Super League at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Saturday.
In a match marked by tactical discipline and strong defensive performances, both sides created chances but failed to break the deadlock. Mohun Bagan dominated possession for large parts of the game, controlling the midfield and building several promising attacks, but the Bengaluru defense remained resolute.
The visitors pressed forward with intent in the first half, trying to find space in the Bengaluru backline. However, the home side stayed compact and looked dangerous on counterattacks. Despite a few close attempts from both teams, the first half ended goalless.
The tempo increased after the break as Mohun Bagan pushed harder for a breakthrough. Their forwards repeatedly tested the Bengaluru goalkeeper, who made a series of crucial saves to keep his team in the game. Bengaluru, on the other hand, relied on quick transitions and nearly found the winner late in the match, but the final touch eluded them.
Both teams received a yellow card each during the contest as the match grew increasingly physical in the closing minutes.
While Mohun Bagan may feel disappointed for not converting their dominance into goals, the draw still keeps them at the top of the league standings. Bengaluru FC, meanwhile, will take confidence from a disciplined defensive display against one of the strongest sides in the competition.
The result leaves the title race finely balanced as the Indian Super League season heads into its crucial phase.
