India Crush Pakistan in Dominant Display, Maintain Perfect Record
Ray Sportz Web Desk: India extended their unbeaten run at the SBI 1st Women’s T20 World Cup – Cricket for the Blind 2025, delivering a commanding performance to defeat Pakistan by a wide margin in Match 10 at BOI Grounds, Colombo on Sunday.
Pakistan, batting first, struggled early as India’s sharp bowling and exceptional fielding left them reeling at 23/4 within six overs. Only a resilient 66 off 57 from B3 batter Mehreen Ali and a fighting 44 off 38 from Bushra Ashraf kept Pakistan afloat. With seven batters falling to run-outs, Pakistan managed a modest 135/8, aided by 15 extras.
India’s response was nothing short of explosive. Captain Deepika TC launched the chase with a fiery 45 off 21 balls, setting the tone with power hitting before being run out. The momentum continued through Anekha Devi, whose unbeaten 64 off 34 sealed the chase with ease. Her authoritative innings earned her the Player of the Match award.
India cruised past the target, further strengthening their position at the top of the table and reaffirming their status as tournament favourites. Pakistan, playing only their second match, were unable to replicate their previous dominating win over Sri Lanka.
The tournament continues today with a crucial clash between Sri Lanka and Australia, as teams fight for semifinal berths.
