Ray Sportz Web Desk: In the lead-up to England’s much-anticipated Test clash against India, skipper Ben Stokes remained unfazed by the challenge posed by Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. Speaking to reporters, Stokes dismissed the notion of over-focusing on any single player, stating, “We have our plans. Bumrah is world-class, but we’re not playing against just one man.”
However, Stokes was far more effusive when speaking about Rishabh Pant. Calling himself a “massive fan,” the England captain praised the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman for his fearless style and ability to change the course of a match within a single session.
“Pant is box-office. He brings something different to the game – flair, aggression, and unpredictability. Players like him are great for Test cricket,” Stokes said.
The remarks set the tone for what promises to be a fiercely competitive series, with individual brilliance on both sides likely to shape the outcome.
