IND vs ENG: KL Rahul Confident as India Gears Up for Thrilling Final Day Showdown
Ray Sportz Web Desk: As the first Test between India and England heads into its final day at Headingley, KL Rahul believes his team is in a strong position to push for victory. With the match finely balanced, the Indian opener sounded optimistic about wrapping things up in their favour.
“We’ll give ourselves the best chance,” Rahul said after play on Day 4, expressing faith in India’s ability to take all ten England wickets and start the series with a 1-0 lead.
India had earlier set England a tough target of 371, after posting 364 in their second innings. The hosts began their chase solidly, with openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett safely negotiating the final session to close the day at 21 for no loss.
Rahul, who played a key role alongside Rishabh Pant in pushing India’s lead past 350, hinted at an edge-of-the-seat finish on Tuesday. “It’s set up perfectly. There’s definitely going to be a result — even England have said that. It gives us a real shot at picking up those 10 wickets,” he said.
With the pitch still offering something for the bowlers and both teams going all in for a win, the stage is set for a blockbuster ending at Headingley.
