IND vs ENG: India Keep Hopes Alive with Late Strikes on Dramatic Day at The Oval
Ray Sportz Web Desk: India clawed back into contention on Day 4 of the final Test at The Oval, grabbing four late wickets to halt England’s charge and keep the series-deciding match wide open.
After setting England a daunting target of 374, India were put on the back foot by a sensational 195-run stand between Harry Brook (111) and Joe Root (105). The duo took the game away for most of the day, with Root anchoring the innings and Brook counterattacking in style.
But in the final session, Indian seamers Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj mounted a spirited comeback, removing both set batters and reducing England from a commanding 339/3 to a shaky 339/6 before bad light ended play early.
England now need just 35 more runs to win the match and the series 3–1, while India require four wickets on the final day to force a 2–2 draw and retain the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
All eyes are now on Day 5, where weather, nerves, and discipline could decide the fate of an epic Test series.
