Ray Sportz Web Desk: In a nail-biting finish on Day 5 of the third Test at Lord’s, England defeated India by 22 runs to take a 2–1 lead in the five-match series. Chasing a modest target of 193, India began the day at 58/0 but suffered a dramatic collapse, losing eight wickets before lunch.
Ravindra Jadeja staged a valiant resistance with an unbeaten 61, but despite a gritty lower-order stand with Jasprit Bumrah, India fell short. England’s Shoaib Bashir, playing with an injured finger, bowled the final wicket of Mohammed Siraj to seal the match.
Ben Stokes was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance, contributing vital runs and key breakthroughs, including the crucial dismissal of Rishabh Pant.
The fourth Test begins next week at The Oval, with India looking to bounce back in the high-stakes series.
