IND vs ENG: Chappell Flags Concerns Over India’s One-Dimensional Bowling Attack
Ray Sportz Web Desk: Former Australian captain Ian Chappell has expressed concern over the lack of variety in India’s bowling attack, calling it a potential weakness in high-stakes international matches. Speaking on a recent cricket panel, Chappell highlighted that India’s current bowling setup lacks diversity in pace and spin options, making it predictable and easier for opposition batters to counter.
“India needs more variation—be it a left-arm seamer, a mystery spinner, or a reliable all-rounder who can deliver breakthroughs in the middle overs,” Chappell remarked.
He stressed that while India boasts world-class talents like Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, the attack often leans too heavily on one style, particularly in overseas conditions.
With major tournaments like the 2025 Champions Trophy on the horizon, Chappell believes India must address this imbalance to remain competitive at the highest level.
