Ray Sportz Web Desk: India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the second Test against England at Edgbaston, as part of a pre-planned workload management strategy devised by head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill. Despite India’s loss in the first Test at Headingley, the team management has decided to stick to their original rotation plan, with Bumrah expected to play only three of the five Tests in the series.

According to sources, Gill and chief selector Ajit Agarkar played a key role in identifying which matches Bumrah would sit out. Having bowled over 44 overs in the opening Test, the team is keen on managing his workload to prevent injury and keep him fresh for the remaining fixtures.
While some former cricketers, including Aakash Chopra, questioned the public disclosure of the rotation strategy, Gambhir stood firm, stating that long-term planning takes precedence over short-term pressure.
