ISL Future Uncertain as AIFF-FSDL Talks Stall Amid Supreme Court Directive

Ray Sportz Web Desk: The All India Football Federation has issued an official statement addressing uncertainty over the upcoming Indian Super Leaguel season. The Football Sports Development Limited , AIFF’s commercial partner, has expressed its inability to proceed with the ISL due to a lack of clarity on its rights under a renewed contractual framework.
According to the AIFF, discussions for a renewal of the Master Rights Agreement began as early as November 2024, with meetings held in February and March 2025. However, a legal twist emerged after the Supreme Court of India, during a hearing on April 26, 2025, observed that no renewal should take place until further orders.
As a result, AIFF has placed all renewal talks on hold, pending further direction from the apex court. The federation emphasized the importance of the ISL to Indian football and assured that all necessary steps will be taken to protect its continuity.
The AIFF has appealed for patience and cooperation from stakeholders during this period of uncertainty.
